The Story Behind Lilliam

Lilliam is more than a name—it is a tribute to two extraordinary women who helped shape my life.

The name combines Lillian, my mother’s youngest sister, and Miriam, another of my mother’s sisters. Although they were my aunts, they were so much more. Lillian was only eight years older than I am, so we grew up more like sisters. Miriam became like a second mother to me, always offering love, guidance, and unwavering support.

Both of them passed away far too soon, but the impact they made on my life will never fade. They were among the smartest, funniest, kindest, most loving, stylish, and inspiring women I have ever known.

To me, Lilliam represents everything they embodied—love, strength, creativity, beauty, and joy. Those are the same qualities I strive to pour into every handmade piece I create. My hope is that when you receive something from Lilliam by Myra, you feel the care, craftsmanship, and love behind it, just as I felt from the two incredible women who inspired it.
